Helen Cummings was a clinical massage rehabilitation therapist, teacher, and the creator and founder of Maui Excellent. As a teacher and adviser to the Hawaii State Board of Massage Therapy, Helen taught accreditation classes and apprenticed therapists. She had a vision. A vision for healing.

In the early 1990's, she opened her practice located on the island of Maui, Back to Center Massage, she was a highly sought after therapist working with orthopedic surgeons. She advised on alkaline diet to support and speed the client’s healing and her specialties include scar-adhesion therapy, postural re-training and alignment awareness.

It is from this intense study and practice that Maui Excellent was born in 1999. Helen Cummings formulated her one-of-a-kind, all-natural, aromatherapy products that range from pain management, to soothing creams and facial and skin rejuvenation treatments. These products are now used by health and wellness professionals, as well as thousands of consumers across Hawaii and the world! 

The Maui Excellent mission that started in 1999, to create high-quality, clean beauty products that soothe and inspire, is now carried on by Helen's family today. These products are still made with love in micro-batches on the island of Maui in Hawaii. Volcano Oil and Maui Excellent Aromatherapeutics continue to heal and calm the world in small ways every day.
